ABOUT Xay
Xay is a RnB artist from Munich. We have accompanied the musician for one day and looked behind the scenes. In this short documentary of an upcoming artist, it's about his everyday life and the challenges between self-realization and recognition in the German Rnb scene.
About the project
When we shoot short documentation, it is about understanding the facts and circumstances. We take enough time for these projects to have a detailed and informal conversation. It is important for us that our partners feel comfortable at all times. This applies to before, while and after the shoot. In this project we had the opportunity to work freely and without specifications. The shooting took place spontaneously and without a script.
The Story goes on
A few weeks after Xay received the short film, he called me (Quang) and said, "Hey bro, are you up for producing the next two music videos for me?". I thought about it for a while and agreed: "We're in!" The project was a challenge, we had a limited budget and the plan was 2 shooting days in Munich and 1 shooting day in Berlin. I called Benni and told him about our new assignment: Yo Bro, we're going to Munich & Berlin in a few weeks. We have to shoot two music videos in 3 days. He just answered: Man, that's gonna be tuff, but I'm down!
